To promote confidence in the use of the Internet, Promerit AG is pleased to explain how it uses personally-identifiable data. The following tells you what kind of information is collected and what we do with it.
As a rule, you can access all pages of Promerit AG's Web site (the "Site") without giving any information about yourself. Should your name, address or other personal information be required, you are advised of this in advance. Your personal usage data is employed to make Promerit AG's service to you as convenient as possible, and to improve the service.
If you decide to make personal information available to Promerit AG over the Internet - for example in order to make correspondence possible or to place an order - this information will be treated with great care, in accordance with the strict provisions of Germany's Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
When a user visits the Site, usage data is sent to Promerit AG and is stored for backup purposes. This data could also conceivably permit identification of the user (for instance by the user's IP address, date, time, and pages viewed). Promerit AG analyzes this data to learn usage patterns and prepare statistical summaries, but complies fully with the high standards of data security of the German Teleservices Data Protection Act (TDDSG) and the Data Protection Regulations for Telecommunications Companies (TDSV). The data is not exploited in any way that links it to individuals. However, we reserve the right to analyze data sets statistically that have been made anonymous.

Passing personal information to third parties
Should data be passed on to a service provider during the data processing of purchase orders, the data has to fully comply with the BDSG and other legal regulations and is bound by the Privacy Policy of Promerit AG. Where required by legal regulations or a court order, Promerit AG will pass on the requested data to parties authorized to disclose information. Promerit AG does not pass personal information for other purposes to third parties without your prior consent.
Security
Promerit AG stores your data on specially protected servers in Germany. Access is restricted to a small number of persons authorized by Promerit AG who are involved in the technical, business or editorial aspects of operating these servers.
Your right to revoke consent to the use of your data
If you request that Promerit AG refrain from using your personal information to contact you further and/or to delete such data altogether, we will comply with your wish. Data that is essential for order processing or for other business purposes will not be affected by a revocation and will not be deleted. Please be aware that personalized service requires personal data and thus can no longer be provided in the event of revocation.
Use of cookies
Cookies are files in ASCII format (cookie.txt) in which text data is collected during online sessions and stored on the user's hard disk. The user's Web browser determines where on the hard disk the cookie is stored. The data in cookies is sent back to the host server at the user's next visit. Cookies can be read only by the same server that originally placed them on the hard disk.
Promerit AG uses cookies only where they are essential to user functions or make it easier to navigate the Site. As cookies are employed only for these purposes, the information is not made available to third parties. Most browsers are set to accept cookies by default, but users may deactivate this setting at any time in the browser. Instead, you can set your browser to notify you whenever cookies are sent.
Links to other Web sites
The Site of Promerit AG may contain links to other Web sites. Promerit AG has no control over the editorial content of any other Web sites, nor over the compliance of other sites operators with data protection regulations.
Advertising
The Site of Promerit AG generally does not contain advertising space. In cases where it does display advertising, the ads are delivered by external ad servers. The data collected in connection with online advertising (ad impressions, ad clicks) is used solely for statistical purposes and to generate reports for advertising clients. No personal information is used in the process.
The delivery of advertising may involve the use of cookies, which is outside the control of Promerit AG.
